EAST LONDON MAN TAKING ON BOOTS OVER THEIR REFUSAL TO PAY FOR LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT OUTSIDE EVERY SHOP My London, 06 October 2022
Featuring Malcolm Alexander, Chair, Patients' Forum Malcolm told My London: "Boots would be the ideal place because they've got pharmacists that are trained in CPR and the use of defibrillators. They told us we [the voluntary sector] have to pay for them, which I thought was scandalous. Their absolute refusal was quite astonishing. https://www.mylondon.news/news/health/east-london-man-taking-boots-25194291 |

THOUSANDS OF AMBULANCE PATIENTS SUFFER A&E DELAYS DUE TO LACK OF BEDS
www.standard.co.uk
Thousands of patients brought to hospital by ambulance are suffering delays getting into A&E because of a shortage of staff and beds. Some are spending in excess of two hours on trolleys in corridors or waiting areas, despite a 15-minute NHS target for them to be handed over. It also means London Ambulance Service crews, who wait alongside the patient, cannot respond to the next 999 call.

LETTER TO THE EVENING STANDARD from Malcolm Alexander, Chair, Patients' Forum

Your excellent article on London’s A&E crisis (‘London A&E patients hit by winter crisis’, December 9) exposes the chaos caused by the closure and massive under-funding of A&E Departments in West London. Cuts over the past few years have had the inevitable effect of leaving sick people having to wait appalling lengths of time for treatment.
